First Entry

Married Man- that's what i hear alot these days whenever i see a friend. Married is right, I married the love of my life two months ago- Kristin Damrel. After returning from the honeymoon in Auburn, Alabama we settled down to life and getting to know one another better. Being from the small country town of Eclectic, pop. 1700, i had a little difficulty getting adjusted to hearing sirens almost every night and locking every door behind me here in Prattville, but it's growing on me. I'm starting to like the convinence of Wal-Mart only being 3 minutes away instead of 15, seriously needed in the life of a husband who's wife is nearing 5 months of pregnancy.Yes, she is pregnant, and it has been a wonderful experience so far. I am beginning to grasp somewhat of an idea of what true love is. I cannot completely state that I am Dr. Love, however one important has been learned this far- Love=giving up of one's self in exchange for serving another. Many small "heated conversations" could have been prevented the first few weeks if only i had realized this. Now, this concept is making more and more since to me; whenever i serve my wife, friend, stranger, or whoever i simply increase my Joy. This is not logical whatsoever, hence the hindrance to do it, I mean after all what sane person wants to say, "You know I think today I'm just gonna forget every self-indulging want that i have and only serve others."? However God commands it- In Matthew 25 and continualy throughout the gospel Jesus calls for being a servant to others. The woman who washed Jesus' feet with her hair, Mary and Martha, on and on, the example is repeated. How could we, Christians, not want to serve one another, after all He set the first example for us. Almighty God left the Glory of Heaven and came to earth in the form of a lowly man, perfect still. He was born to a meager Carpenter from Galilee, He travled around Israel, Healing, Teaching and fulfilling Prophesy. For approx.3 years Jesus continued His earthly ministry, having "no where to lay His head", walking for days on end, with countless times massive crowds following and seeking him-not even mentioning the self-righteous Pharisees seeking to trick Him and later kill the Messiah. After His ministry was complete He made His way unto Jerusalem eventually to be crucified on Calvary's rugged cross. Here He would be even more abased for my place, in silence He layed down His Life for mine. This perfect, sinless, spotless Lamb shed His blood so i could be cleansed and given life, eternal. He didn't stop here, Jesus Christ rose on the third day conquering sin, death and hell. Through Him we are made joint-heirs with Christ. The True Servant- Phil. 2:5-11

5Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in very nature[a] God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross! 9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
